I'm New to the Church

When to come Our Sunday worship is at 10:30 am. Conversations begin earlier than that among those who arrive early. Around 10:25, a musical prelude provides a background for reflection and prayer. What to wear We're pretty relaxed! Just come as you are. You won't see too many suits, more likely tee shirts and jeans, or sweaters and slacks, depending on the weather. We love children Children are an important part of the family of God! If you have children, you can count on them being welcomed to Blythwood. We know that infants cry and children sometimes drop things to the floor with a bang. We also provide Nursery care for infants and toddlers and a children's worship program for children to age ten. Children are dismissed for that program about 20 minutes into worship.
Getting here Blythwood Road Baptist Church is accessible. Entrance to the elevator, which provides access to all levels, is at the north-west corner of the building. A wheelchair accessible restroom is on the second floor at the north end. Click Here for directions to Blythwood.
Finding your way around the building Blythwood Road Baptist Church has three levels, basement, main floor and second floor. The sanctuary (the worship area) is on the main floor of the building. If you enter through the south doors, it is straight ahead. If you enter through the east door, turn to your left. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the greeters. They are there to welcome you and help you find a seat. They will give you a program for the worship service. Washrooms are also on the main floor at the north end of the building.
During worship The worship leader will lead the congregation through the songs and hymns and indicate when you can stand, etc. If you want, or need, to remain seated that's just fine. Somewhere through the service there will be a collection of money to support the church programs. Don't feel pressured to make a contribution, just pass the plate along the row. After worship Worship lasts about one hour. Our 11:35 reception is held immediately following in The Friendship Room. It is also on the main floor of the building at the north end.
